Commodity Manager Indirect Goods & services (m/f/d)

 

based in our International Headquarters in Bruehl (Cologne area).

 

 

Your Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

Regional Spend Category Management indirect

 

  • To lead, train and improve a decentralized European Commodity team for Indirect Purchases.
  • Manage, negotiates and reports Capex requirements and purchases
  • Develop, implement, monitor and continuously improve a European supply/sourcing strategy for the indirect Commodity together with the “VP Procurement” which will improve cost, quality and service and will reduce the administrative work.
  • Identification of new suppliers and offers, analyze in relation to best quality and price;
  • Negotiate economic and contractual conditions in line with TCO;
  • Present and Roll out this strategy and implement a process to follow up the work in progress
  • Help to get supply information within the Commodity on a European base.
  • Analyze and negotiate CAPEX, Maschinery and Equipment purchases.
  • Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures and perform SOX controls;
  • Prepare budgets and track performance

Manage interactions with key stakeholders

 

  • Align procurement strategy with plant operations, engineering and other stakeholders
  • Maintain communication with plant operations, updating them on markets, initiatives, and strategy
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis of operational cost savings initiatives
  • Work with operations and engineering to ensure alignment of products
  • Act as key market resource for respective commodities in growth or M&A opportunities
  • Provide market trend study for specific product area
  • Allocate demand across supplier portfolio
  • Oversee and optimize the P2P process

  • Purchasing system implementation;
  • Optimize supplier panel;
  • Develop and standardize Suppliers audit;
  • Run quality and cost improvement projects with Suppliers
  • Preparation of report to leadership/shareholder
    • Consolidation of division’s report
    • Index consolidation
    • Purchasing strategy 

 

Your Ideal Profile:

 

  • University/business school degree (economics or engineering) or some years of purchasing experiences
  • Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to see the “big picture” with strong networking capabilities;
  • English proficiency; additional European language a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Project management
  • 8+ years of purchasing management
  • European/international background
  • Matrix and project organizations
  • Commodity experience for indirect and direct materials
  • Total cost management
  • Supplier Relationship Management
  • Good understanding of overall business context
  • Process oriented and strong analytical thinking
  • Ability to express information in a manner appropriate to different levels of people & lead negotiations
  • Ability to take actions, decisions & to generate ideas, products, processes in promised timely manner
  • Willingness to travel
