Industrial packaging reconditioning is the professional process of collecting, inspecting, cleaning, repairing, and requalifying used IBCs and drums so they can safely re-enter service. Mauser offers a full range of reconditioned industrial packaging, including washed and rebottled IBC options, and plastic and steel drums in a wide range of configurations. Mauser reconditions packaging from most major manufacturers, not just Mauser containers. Both UN-rated and non-UN packaging is available.

A rebottled IBC keeps the original cage but receives a brand-new Mauser inner bottle and valve, making it the preferred choice when the existing bottle cannot be safely reused. Mauser offers both options; some reconditioning providers offer only rebottled.

IBC and drum reconditioning extends the life of existing packaging, eliminating the need to manufacture a completely new container. Reconditioned IBCs can have a carbon footprint up to 80% lower than new IBCs, while reconditioned drums can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90%. These savings come primarily from reusing existing materials, such as the steel cage, drum body, and other components, rather than producing new ones from virgin raw materials. Because raw material production and manufacturing related processes account for most of a container's environmental impact, reconditioning significantly reduces overall CO₂ emissions.

Yes. Mauser's Recover Syst-M collection program picks up used IBCs and drums directly from your or your customers' sites. Mixed loads of IBCs and drums can often be transported together on a single truck. Through Recover Syst-M, customers can schedule pickups, track containers, and manage their packaging fleet.
