A plastic drum is a rigid HDPE container used to store and transport liquid, semi-liquid, or solid goods across industries including petrochemical, pharmaceutical, industrial chemical, construction, paint, food, and beverage. Mauser plastic drums are available new or reconditioned, in both tight-head and open-head configurations, and in UN-certified options for hazardous materials.

A tight-head drum has a non-removal top with small bung openings for filling and dispensing liquids, making it well suited for pumped or gravity-fed products. An open-head drum has a removable lid secured by a locking ring, which makes it better suited for applications that require full access to drum contents, including powders, solids, or viscous materials. Mauser offers both as part of its L-Ring® PLUS (tight-head), Vanguard (open-head), and O-Top® (open-head) product lines.

Yes. Mauser plastic drums are available with a variety of UN-certifications depending on the product being shipped, including Y1.9/200 for standard fit-for-purpose use and higher-performance ratings such as X1.2/250 and X1.4/250 for more demanding applications. All UN-certified drums comply with international packaging regulations governing the transportation of dangerous goods.

Mauser plastic drums range from 15–77 gallons / 30–220 liters, covering both large-volume and intermediate sizing needs. Tight-head and open-head drums are each available in standard and high-performance configurations to match specific volume and weight requirements.

An HDPE drum is a plastic drum made from high-density polyethylene, a durable material chosen for its chemical resistance, impact strength, and ability to hold up under demanding storage and transportation conditions. Mauser manufactures its plastic drums from carefully sourced HDPE.

Yes. Mauser's Infinity Series plastic drums are made with post-consumer recycled resin (PCR), available in monolayer construction using up to 98% recycled plastics or in 2-layer and 3-layer multilayer designs that use virgin HDPE on the product-contact layer to reduce the risk of cross-contamination. Depending on the configuration chosen, Infinity Series plastic drums can reduce carbon emissions by 22%–60% compared to drums made with 100% HDPE.

Yes. Mauser plastic drums can be collected post-use through the Recover Syst-M program and either reconditioned for reuse or recycled. This helps customers reduce waste and supports a closed-loop packaging lifecycle.
