The story of Mauser Packaging Solutions begins more than a century ago, not with plastic pails, drums or IBCs, but with tinplate pots, pans, and pie plates in a manufacturing facility in Brooklyn, New York, USA. Today, the earliest roots of the Company’s beginnings live on as the North America Small Packaging business unit of Mauser Packaging Solutions, where the same ingenuity, quality, and customer focus that defined the company’s beginnings continue to drive its future.

The Early Years

In 1875, entrepreneur William Vogel founded a family business that embodied the spirit of innovation which was shaping America’s Industrial Revolution. From the start, the company, later known as William Vogel & Bros., was known for manufacturing durable solutions designed to meet the evolving needs of industry and everyday life.

In 1929, the company was re-established as Standard Sprayer Inc., manufacturing reusable pie plates and hand insecticide sprayers. As the business grew through the mid-20^th century, it expanded its capabilities during World War II to include shell containers, honing the company’s commitment to quality, engineering excellence, and customer focus, principles that still define Mauser Packaging Solutions today.

Expansion

During the 1960s and 1970s, the company’s focus shifted toward rigid industrial packaging, producing metal paint cans, steel pails, and eventually 5-gallon plastic buckets, items we still produce today!  Over the years, a series of acquisitions and mergers transformed the family-owned business into BWAY Corporation, a leading producer of rigid metal and plastic packaging.

The Past Inspires Our Future

In 2018, BWAY, MAUSER Group, National Container Group, and Industrial Container Services formed Mauser Packaging Solutions, providing integrated packaging solutions that close the loop through manufacturing, reconditioning, reuse and recycling.

The legacy of BWAY Corporation, together with the companies that became Mauser Packaging Solutions, continues to fuel our commitment to innovation and shape the future of packaging.
