A reconditioned IBC tote is a used intermediate bulk container—sometimes called a refurbished IBC tote—that has been professionally cleaned, inspected, and repaired. Mauser offers both washed and rebottled IBCs, giving your packaging a second life while reducing your carbon footprint by up to 80% compared to new.

A washed IBC maintains its original bottle and cage and gets cleaned and inspected—the most sustainable option. A rebottled IBC retains the original cage, but receives a brand-new Mauser Packaging Solutions bottle, making it ideal for IBCs whose inner bottle cannot be washed. Mauser offers both options; some reconditioning providers only offer rebottled.

Yes. Mauser’s collection program makes it easy to schedule a pickup directly from your site. Through Recover Syst-M, you can arrange collection of you empty packaging. Mixed loads of IBCs and drums can often be collected on a single truck.

Yes. All Mauser reconditioned IBCs go through a rigorous quality process and maintain their UN certification where applicable. Mauser holds its own UN approvals for rebottled IBCs, available in Non-UN, UN 1.6, UN 1.9, and EX configurations.

Reconditioned IBCs are widely used in chemical, petrochemical, automotive, paints, coatings, agricultural chemical, and industrial manufacturing applications. They are available in configurations suited to hazardous and non-hazardous liquid filling goods.

Mauser’s laundry service called Recoloop, collects used IBCs from your or your customers’ sites, transports them to the nearest Mauser facility, and returns them washed or rebottled and ready for use. Your IBCs remain your property throughout the entire process. The service can be customized to your specific needs and schedule.

Reconditioned IBCs have a carbon footprint up to 80% lower than new packaging, helping manufacturers reduce their environmental impact without compromising performance or safety. Plastic materials that cannot be reconditioned are recycled into Recolene®, Mauser's post-consumer recycled resin used in new packaging.
